Worth It? is an interactive exhibition highlighting the challenging experience about the high cost of living in San Francisco. This exhibit imitates the experience of grocery shopping, but for cost of living items they would buy per month. Visitors will learn about the importance of cost of living and budgeting in an expensive city.
Look & Feel
Initially, an infographic was designed comparing the cost of living between New Delhi, India and San Francisco, California. This involved a lot of research and data to be compiled together in a digestible design. Some of the collected data about San Francisco's cost of living was also used for my exhibition design.
The exhibition takes place The Shed in Manhattan, New York, which is a cultural center that is front of the Hudson Yards, a popular shopping mall. This area attracts a lot of people, especially ones who are want to spend their costs on non-essential items in the mall. New York is also a bustling city with a high population and a high cost of living. Yet, people also still stay there because of their job and the diversity and culture, just like San Francisco. The promotional sculpture would be placed in front of the exhibit's venue and faces the mall.
